Plans Change

by Mary Mary on July 31, 2009

You know how often my plans work out? Not often.

I made wonderful plans to move to Oregon and start looking for a job in Portland. I had a place to live and an idea of what kind of job I wanted. Then I went to Chicago for BlogHer09 and all of that changed. Well, it didn’t change, but it definitely got postponed.

Instead of moving to Oregon I am now headed to Vermont. I met a great lady in Chicago who offered me an awesome opportunity to work in Vermont for 3 months. So now the first week of September I will be headed to Ludlow, VT.

Crazy, eh?

It was impossible for me to say no. Ever since I left New Hampshire I’ve wanted to go back and now I will be living one hour away from the town I once lived in. I’m excited to go back and visit and explore the area as an adult. I’m quite certain I don’t want to live there forever, which is why the 3 month contract seemed perfect. I get to live in Vermont in the mountains during the most beautiful time of the year and then come home to see my brother graduate from the University of Memphis, have a family Christmas, and then find my next opportunity/adventure.

Sounds perfect to me! It might be the opposite of what I was planning but I think it will be a great experience.

Plans change for the better sometimes, no? I’m happy for you that you got this opportunity! Have fun and good luck! And hmm maybe if I can get some credentials and a foundation going (and some fans ;)) I can go to BlogHer10 with you next year! Gosh I hope… my writing spirit’s still pretty down, so I’m hoping to bounce back up in a few months. Sigh, here’s to hopin’!

@Jojo
You should soooo come to BlogHer10! It is in NYC and I’ve never been! I really can’t wait until you start blogging again. I love your writing.
