I’m not a fan of writing online for content farms since they make the majority of the money and then give you pennies for your content. I started out my online writing career with Associated Content but never got very far with them as they kept giving less and less for payments. After a while I realized that I wanted to keep my content and my writing for myself so that I could make more money from it than I would just giving it out to a content farm.
But later on when I started learning about SEO I realized I needed to give away some content to the content farms in order to build backlinks. For every article I could get 2-3 quality backlinks for my pages and blogs, so it turns into a pretty good deal. Most of the big article directories like ezinearticles don’t even pay you for the work, they just give a backlink. So the idea of using content sites that PAY you to write and gain backlinks seems like a great idea. Who doesn’t want a little bit of extra income every month? I know I sure do.
So now instead of submitted articles to article directories to gain backlinks I’m attempting to get backlinks to my blog and get paid! The newest way I’m doing this? INFO BARREL.
Yes, that’s right, info barrel, which I had not even heard of before a few days ago. But I realized that it is actually a golden opportunity to write for money. Unlike the other sites that only pay you a small flat fee per thousand impressions, Info Barrel gives you 75% of the money the ads on your page make. That means if you have good content with SEO that receives traffic you will click on your ads you can make decent money. Normally you would want this content on your site where you make 100% of the ad income, but you can part with this because it is giving you the all important backlinks you need to your site. Why not makes some extra cash when you are building backlinks and helping your seo as well? Seems like a win/win to me.
I know a lot of other people do this kind of writing for money AND backlinks project on other sites like hubpages and associated content and such. I do it on those too, but for now I’m going to focus on Info Barrel and try to build some income and backlinks there. It couldn’t hurt to try to build an extra bit of passive income for a few weeks of writing since I need to build backlinks to my sites anyway.
